Tour Through Blogland!

HI! WELCOME TO THRILLER MOM... MY BLOG... MY ASYLUM... MY SANITY.

I received a message inviting me to join the "tour" through Blogland. You know me. My mind immediately went to------> VACATION!!! Woohoo! I'm going places! Never heard of ya but Blogland here I come!

Tropical waters, a hotel room without cubs, a toilet meditation without stalkers, and the shower to myself! Oh this has to be my reward for being an exceptional human being and outstanding writer!
(Emphasis on that last part)

Just when I was ready to prepare my inevitable speech, I read the part that explained this tour as an internet gig only. And THAT, my friends, is how to bring a desperate mom back to reality! Lol!

I thought I was really going someWHERE! Hardly amused.

How it works is that a blogger invites another blogger to give readers an in-depth view into his/her life, family, home, and blog. Because I was invited and accepted the invitation, it is now my turn to guide you through Thrillerdise! I'll announce the bloggers I've invited at the end. Fun right?!

I was thrilled to be asked to take part in this blog tour by the fabulous "Joanna" of motherhoodandmerlot.com. Considering that she's (almost) an expert of all things motherhood and wine, I knew this was gonna be good! I consider her invitation a pleasure to receive! So PLEASE visit all of her social media sites and show her awesomeness some L.O.V.E.

Now let's get on with the show. First my home/family/projects.

I'm not an artsy-craftsy person. At all. I want to be but I just can't seem to get there these days. I do, however, have two ongoing projects of sorts-------->MY DESK & THE LAUNDRY<-------. My desk is always full of clutter but I removed most of it as a courtesy to you! Feel special dammit! You can still find evidence of little grubby hands, cub projects, attempted meals, and things undone. I can't show you my laundry room because I can't get in it! Lol. It's the truth people. I've viewed the fantastic homes of other bloggers on this tour. So neat. So clean. So NOT mine! I often say that my home looks like a landfill threw up in it! Once upon a time I was neat and orderly. But my cubs are crazy, food/stains hide in every crevice, and sticky substances love to attack your feet. Sorry if you came here looking for a "magazine worthy" home! That's just not MY story. And I'm not going to pretend that it is...

This pic is an oldie but a goodie.

Here are my cubs in all of their splendor. Aren't they precious?! It's amazing how well the mischief blends in with their skin tones and embeds within their pores. You'd never think that the smaller one tries to lick EVERYTHING and the oldest is my patience nemesis. Lol! I love them beyond comprehension! If you knew them, you couldn't help but to love them too. Follow me on the big Book o' Faces www.facebook.com/thrillermom and you'll learn all about their daily antics. These two have turned my home into a circus/zoo. You decide for yourself. I give up!

My Mr, who I'm sure you've met on "The Family" page of my blog, is a classic car and motorcycle lover. He's an adrenaline junkie and my complete opposite! I guess that's why our love works. Lol! He's a great rider and does crAzy stunts! He's very good at it, too, but don't tell him I said that. Those stunts tear my nerves to pieces! The car is his latest purchase/project. We love our yacht on wheels! Don't question it. Don't judge it. Just know that we love it! We also love to attend car shows and biker events together. It is my goal to one day learn to ride a motorcycle. The farthest I've gotten is the driveway. Go me! This play-it-safe chick has her moments!

THE SCOOP

What am I working on?

Now that's a million dollar question because I don't really know where to begin. As a writer, I'm working on making connections; as many as possible. I'm consistently updating my blog and trying to make it pretty for ya. I want you to feel comfy and fabulous when you get here. That way, you'll stay a while. You did bring your suitcase this time, right?! I want to get the word out about my blog and to be respected and requested as a writer. WHAT?! You can't believe I admitted that? Well believe it. This girl has BIG, no HUGE, dreams/goals and she wants the world to know!

As a mom, spouse, and CEO of all things diaper related, I'm working on protecting my last remaining morsel of sanity. It's a daily struggle NOT to forget to feed everyone for Pete's sakes! I'm also working to incorporate more family outings and activities into our lives. I'm usually so exhausted that I'm drooling by early evening; Especially if I haven't had my sweet nectar. Those who follow me regularly know what my nectar is! Nom, nom.

How does my work differ from those in my genre?

I'm not really sure that I have a genre. If "random" is a category, count me in! Most people seem to get a good laugh or smile from my posts. As of late, I've even managed to conjure some tears from readers. In most postings, I'm rambling about merciless motherhood, rebellious private parts, or my slightly obscured daily observations. For example, the guy who drove past me with his finger far enough in his nose to scan his brain. Yes, I observe those types of things as well as kid's unmistakeable laughter, elderly wedgies, and pretty things in shop windows that I can't buy. Now do you see why I need those writing connections? This chick needs some serious dough to do some serious shopping! AND to send the cubs to college! So to answer the question (finally), my work differs in that I post what's REALLY on my mind; Almost to a fault and assuming that some others do not.

Why do I write/create what I do?

I write/create what I do because it's my REAL LIFE craziness and it's FUN! I want to laugh. I need to laugh. And if I can use my daily madness to make you laugh, then Merry Christmas to me! The world has enough sad tears. Let's cry from belly-aching laughter! I also write to vent, to be honest/relatable, and to gift others with proof that they're not alone in the daily madness that is life. We are all struggling AND winning together!

How does my creative writing process work?

I wish I could say that I'm enjoying scented candles, sitting in a serene environment, or surrounded by ocean waves when I create. But no such luck in my life! At least not yet. I'm usually drowning in screaming kids and chaos when a topic strikes. If I'm driving, I'll simply pull over or pray that my few remaining brain cells don't jump ship! There are times when my mind is like a psycho auctioneer, throwing topics at me like baseballs. And at lightening speed! I love those times because I have content to pull from. I hate those times because that psycho won't let me sleep and gets me into trouble. You try explaining to your spouse who you're fussing at...at 3 in the morning...in the dark...with no one else in sight. Umm hmm. Yep. That's what I thought you'd say! Lol.

Most of my work is done after everyone else is sleeping. When I'm alone and it's quiet, I can do my best work. Thoughts move consistently and words flow more easily. Writing for me is therapy. Writing for me is orgasmic. I love to write.

THE GRAND FINALE!!!

Wow ladies, gents, and freeloaders! This tour has been SO MUCH FUN but it has to end somewhere. I'm putting the brakes on and allowing you to exit the Thrillerdise train. I've really enjoyed sharing a bit more of myself/my life with you and I hope you've learned something new about me. Especially about me being an outstanding writer. Lol! I'm just joking (sort of).

  4. That picture of your two little ones in a laundry basket is priceless. I know it's a laundry basket because I have 3 that look exactly the same- ha! I love how you readily admit your house isn't spotless too. People should feel special when you clean and give you a medal! I feel exactly the same way.

  8. WOW...is it possible that we may be related? :) The chaos that consumes my life is where some of my best stuff comes from...and that 3am conversation? Yeah, I have those and Mr. Steel has just learned to roll over, like NOTHING is happening. LOL
Making connections, ONE of the reasons I started blogging and the SWW page on FB. (Been blogging for over 10 yrs now) I have a dream of writing...have actually written stuff, but those were short stories for college. ;) Working on a bigger project now.
LOVE LOVE learning about you and your family. Thanks for letting us in. :) <3 *If this is seen as rambling...blame the pain meds...if not, then YAY!*
